Welcome to
Bridle the Gap
Mission: Bridle the Gap creates healing connections between people and animals through horseback riding lessons, adaptive riding, and equine-assisted learning programs.
We are committed to serving children, families, and individuals throughout Southern Illinois, with a special focus on foster youth, adopted children, individuals with disabilities, and families facing financial hardship.
Through scholarships, sponsorships, and community support, we strive to make life-
changing equine experiences accessible to those who need them most.
Vision: We envision a community where every child and individual—regardless of background or
circumstance—has the opportunity to experience healing, confidence, connection, and hope
through the power of horses and animal-assisted programs.

Who We Serve
Bridle the Gap proudly serves:
• Foster youth
• Adopted children
• Individuals with disabilities
• Children facing emotional challenges
• Families in need of support
• Community members seeking connection and growth through horses

Why Horses?
Horses provide a unique emotional connection and healing for people of all ages and backgrounds.
They have an ability to sense human emotions and respond without judgement, creating trust, confidence and personal growth that cannot be replicated.
In a world where many people feel overwhelmed, horses provide a grounding presence that encourages healing, hope and connection.
Fun Fact:
Horses can sense a humans heartbeat from 4 to 5 feet away.

Support Our Cause
At Bridle the Gap we provide sponsorships for animal assisted learning, horse riding lessons and equine assisted services to those with low income, living with disabilities, adopted children and children who have experienced foster care.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that cannot operate without the help of others.
