Our Story

Creating Healing Connections

Bridle the Gap was founded from a lifelong passion for horses and a deep belief in their
ability to create healing, confidence, and connection.

Founder Lydia Grider began riding in 2012 through Pony Club and quickly discovered the
powerful emotional connection that exists between horses and people. Through years of
involvement in Pony Club, 4-H, competitions, and equine education, that passion grew into a calling to create something meaningful for others.

In 2024, after much prayer and reflection, Bridle the Gap was born.

Today, Bridle the Gap provides safe, supportive equine-assisted programs for children,
families, foster youth, and individuals facing emotional, physical, or life challenges.

Through horseback riding, adaptive riding, and equine-assisted learning programs like
Stable Moments, participants build confidence, emotional resilience, trust, and life skills
through connection with horses.

Our mission is simple: To bridge the gap between hardship and hope through healing
connections.
